Edens Zero and Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima is a big gamer, but it turns out he also knows a thing or two about making games.

Today he released a game he made himself titled “Rebecca to kikai no youkan”, which translates to “Rebecca and the Machine Mansion”.

The game is created with RPG Maker and it is defined as a “mystery solving escape adventure game”. It puts the player in control of Rebecca of Edens Zero, with the mission of escaping a mansion full of traps alongside Happy and Pino.

It can be downloaded for free here (the link is at the bottom where it says Windows). Of course, it’s for PC and a keyboard or gamepad is recommended. The mouse is supported but not fully optimized.

Mashima-sensei mentions that since this is a spin-off game, you don’t really need to know Edens Zero’s story to play, but he hopes newbies will pick up on it.

Besides, the game is only in Japanese for the moment.

If you find any bugs, we encourage you to report them to Mashima Sensei himself on Twitter.

Speaking of Edens Zero news, Konami recently released Edens Zero: Pocket Galaxy for iOS and Android. In contrast, the console action JRPG that was announced at the same time during Tokyo Game Show 2020 is still completely missing in action and we haven’t heard from it since.

Hiro Mashima himself also recently reached out to independent developers to find someone willing to create a new Fairy Tail game.
