Forza Horizon 5 fixes major online multiplayer and co-op issues

The end of 2021 has been massive for Xbox, with several triple-A games being released on the platform. One of those high profile games is Forza Horizon 5, a racing game set in various regions of Mexico. Since the game’s release on November 5, it has become one of the most popular titles on Xbox. Despite this success, the game has seen its share of post-launch difficulties.

Recently, Playground Games, the developers of Forza Horizon 5, posted a blog post on their website detailing the issues affecting the racing simulator. According to the developer, a number of issues related to multiplayer play have appeared in the game since its launch. The post acknowledged that these difficulties were undoubtedly frustrating for those involved, and promised that fixes would come.

In addition to addressing the issues that afflict Forza Horizon 5, the blog post detailed the multiplayer areas reviewed by the game studio. Among the issues the developer aims to address are bugs causing players to randomly disappear from multiplayer modes. He specifically mentioned the issue with the Convoys and Horizon Arcade. Additionally, Horizon Open matchmaking improvements are coming, along with a fix for challenges in Eliminator.

In addition to these server and matchmaking difficulties, Playground Games brought up the topic of cheats in the game. According to the developer, players posted high scores in the leaderboards which are impossible to obtain except when using cheats. . While acknowledging that cheating will never go away, the company has revealed that it intends to improve its defenses to prevent cheaters and hackers from spoiling the gaming experience for others.

The blog post also discussed the inbound changes for the custom game creator known as EventLab. Based on developer information, a future update will allow players to save and edit content created in the authoring tool. The rationale behind these upcoming feature changes is to allow players to save their work on projects and come back to them later. “We know how difficult it is to create the masterpieces that many of you are known for in one sitting,” the post explained. Additionally, the developer noted that systems are under development to prevent XP / AFK credit farms in EventLab.

It’s good to know that the company seems determined to address these issues affecting multiplayer gameplay for Forza Horizon 5. While the exact implementation dates for these fixes have yet to be revealed, the high priority of these issues suggests fans won’t have to wait very long. Hopefully Playground Games fixes many of these issues quickly so those who want to run with their friends can get back on the road.
