Gotham Knights developer could be working on a Superman game

A Superman game could be in development at WB Montreal, according to a leaker.

Earlier this week, PCGamesN noted that Gotham Knights developer WB Montreal has released a new job listing for a Senior Gameplay Programmer / Animator role. What’s remarkable about this job posting is that it specifically mentions that the role is working on “a new IP address”. In other words, WB Montreal is apparently already working on their next game after Gotham Knights.

This has led to a lot of speculation about what new game the studio might be working on. If you felt like WB Montreal was working exclusively on DC-related games, then you’d be right, because the studio website recently revealed that it is “focused on developing games that expand the DC universe.”

So what could this “new IP” be? If WB Montreal is really focused on developing games related to DC Comics, then the term “new IP” could simply mean a game focusing on characters that are not related to Batman / Gotham City, as the developer has previously worked on. with Arkham. Origins and now Gotham Knights.

It could even be a Superman game. Just below, a leaker made it pretty clear that WB Montreal’s new game is a Superman game. For those unfamiliar with James Sigfield, they previously claimed that Rocksteady was working on a Suicide Squad game, a claim that proved to be true when the developer revealed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for next-gen consoles.

At the moment, it is not at all confirmed what the new game from WB Montreal is. If Sigfield’s new claim is correct, then we might consider the thrilling prospect of a big-budget Superman game. We’ll have to wait and see to find out what the developer is working on next. Luckily, we’ve got a good idea of what this project might look like, thanks to this fan-made concept of Superman in Unreal Engine 5.

In the meantime, Gotham Knights looks forward to next year in 2022, when it launches on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The game will mark a big design change for gaming. linked to WB Batman, becoming fully cooperative and allowing players to take on the roles of Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin.

Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is looking for a similar co-op angle as well. Currently slated for launch next year exclusively on next-gen consoles and PCs, Kill the Justice League will allow four players to team up as Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang, with the explicit purpose of do exactly what the game title says.

If you’re still trying to get your hands on the next-gen PlayStation console, you can head over to our Prime Day PS5 offers for a tracker of the last stock.
