itch.io currently hosts a bundle for abortion funds in the US, and for $10 (£8.25) players can get nearly 800 games.
The bundle is set to end on July 14, with $47,243 (£39,014) of the $50,000 (£41,291) goal raised at press time (July 4). The minimum bundle cost is $10, but itch.io allows players to donate as much above that number as they wish.
There are currently 792 games in the bundle, which have an estimated value of over $3,000 (£2,477).
A statement attached to the package reads: “100% of proceeds from this package will go to the National Network for Abortion Fund Community Feeding Fund, which transfers money directly to abortion funds in more than 20 U.S. states, with a particular focus on the South and Midwest (where access to abortion is often the most difficult).
Friends, the Independent Abortion Fund Bundle is live.
The bundle contains over 700 creations, including my game Lieve Oma.
It’s worth over $3,000 and you can get it for $10 or more.

“NNAF’s partnerships with these abortion funds provide direct resources and funds to many of those most affected by Roe v. Wade for immediate action.”

The itch.io package comes after the United States Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn the abortion protections ruling in Roe v. Wade, who made it federally legal. Now each US state is free to decide whether abortion is illegal or not.
According to an updated tracker from The New York Times, abortion is currently outright banned in eight US states, with five more states expected to follow suit. A number of other states have legal protection for abortion, while a few others should expand access as soon as possible.
