No More Heroes creator Goichi “Suda51” Suda has announced that his studio, Grasshopper Manufacture, may reveal his next project. Over the past year, Grasshopper Manufacture released the long-awaited third installment in the No More Heroes series, ending more than a decade of fan requests. Now, with No More Heroes in the rearview mirror, Suda began hinting at what he could do next.
In a new video shared by NetEase, Suda explained when Grasshopper Manufacture will choose to reveal what it’s working on next. Although he hasn’t committed to anything specific, Suda said the studio hopes to potentially show his next project later in 2022. Although that reveal window may end up moving to next year, Suda said that he wasn’t patient when it came to spotlighting the company’s next game.
“The games that we’re making in this studio, I mean the really, really cool, brand new games, we’re going to keep making those, and I think everyone’s going to be really impressed. I wonder when I can announce them ? Maybe towards the end of the year? I’m not sure,” Suda said. “It might end up being next year, we’ll see how it goes. Anyway, I want to hurry up and show everyone what we’re doing.”
Even though Grasshopper is clearly working on something bigger on the horizon, the studio will technically release a title later this year. This game again happens to be More heroes 3, but simply on new platforms. When HMH3 First released last year, it was exclusive to Nintendo Switch. Starting this fall, however, the title will be coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.
What type of game do you think Suda51 and the Grasshopper Manufacture team could work on? Do you think this will tie into any of the studio’s past games? Give me your own estimate in the comments or message me on Twitter at @MooreMan12.[H/T NG]
