Scout’s Matchday 2 picks for free-to-play SPITCH Fantasy

Sponsored by SPITCH

The Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadline has passed: attention now turns to SPITCH, where you effectively have one Free Hit token to play each week and are only judged on your best five matchdays!

So a week of accidentally forgetting to play won’t be a problem – even from April you’ll still have a chance to win prizes.

There are two one-season options for the 2022/23 campaign, one of which is free-to-play and has a £2,500 prize pool.

HOW TO PLAY SPITCH

SPITCH is a platform where managers can use their football knowledge to defeat others and win cash prizes.

As with the FPL, managers commit to training and have a budget to buy players for their line-up, with the goal of scoring points and winning prizes.

But unlike FPL, managers can actually go over or over budget – this will determine how many positives or negatives they start the round with.

Each week of the “Season” mode requires a new formation without a captain. Managers are allowed up to nine players from the same club and can change teams during the day. “Safety Net” automatically replaces non-runners, while a sophisticated scoring system rewards defensive actions in a way FPL does not.

SCOUT MATCHDAY 2 SCHEDULE

The Matchday 1 selection totaled 2,635 points, which rank 586th. Whether this is good enough to be included in the end-of-season “five best” collection remains to be seen.

Only pedro neto (353) ranked among the top scorers, despite a shutout in FPL. Making three shots on target, he totaled 195 which were completed with eight successful tackles (+120) and 25 assists (+50).

Mohammad Salahthe goal and assist of 300 of his 310, while Rodri (291 points) made the third most successful pass of the weekend.

Sticking to 4-2-4, this week’s lineup includes a cheap Newcastle duo Matt Target (₵42) and Joelinton (₵56) for their Saturday trip to Brighton and Hove Albion, with ₵3 remaining, meaning we start on three points.

Last season’s top scorer at SPITCH was Joao Cancelo (₵175), due to taking the most shots from defenders and making the second most successful passes. He gets the green light here against Bournemouth (H). Like the front does Erling Haaland (₵280), fresh off of first two goals.

Another support for successfully following a splint is Aleksandar Mitrovic (₵80). In addition to his 320 goal points (the penalty was 120), he racked up an additional 255 from 17 successful tackles. He clashes with the Wolves defender Max Kilman (₵87) in Molineux.

Darwin Nunez (₵180) and Ivan Toney (₵100) were also on the scoresheet, with the former making a huge impact after coming off the Liverpool bench.
