Skyrim Fan Creates In-Game Quest Log Style To-Do List App

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim took the gaming world by storm when it launched in 2011 and has remained on top ever since. It’s truly become one of those video games that gamers wish they could erase from their memory, so they could play it again not knowing what to expect. At least this way, all quests would feel like new. These are all the missions that give the game its depth and longevity, so one person decided that logging quests in the non-gaming world should also become a reality.

More on the Skyrim subreddit, user pzet123 has created an app for iOS and Android that’s basically a to-do list. Only in this case, it is directly inspired by the epic Bethesda RPG, right down to the sounds. Like any standard to-do app, users can add what they need to do for that day, add a list of things that need to be completed, and then have the option to check them off or mark them as done, a once finished. This specific app, known simply as “Quest Log”, does all of that, but with a look inspired by the decade-old game, mimicking things like the font and appearance of the in-game quest menu.

Fans are going to enjoy this, especially since once a task, or “quest”, is completed, the game’s Level Up sound plays. Given that Skyrim is known for its amazing in-game quests, pzet123’s app is a suitable download for anyone who is a huge fan of the game, and also has a lot of stuff they need to do on a regular basis. Many in the Reddit thread expressed their joy for “Quest Log”. A user has raised concerns about how the app’s creator used official sound samples from the game, although pzet123 believes that because they are “sound bytes” they hope Bethesda n won’t have any problem with that. More images of the app can be found on the Reddit thread here.

It’s no surprise that the game inspired ideas from the real world. Of Skyrim From fans making sweet buns that look like they’ve been lifted from the world of Tamriel, to great artists reimagining aspects of the game in the form of woodburning, the open-world fantasy title has had a significant impact on the community.

as loved as Skyrim is, there are many who are still waiting for the next episode of the series. With Elder Scrolls 6 being Bethesda’s best-kept secret, it’s unclear when the follow-up will emerge, especially as the studio’s upcoming sci-fi game star field has been delayed until 2023. As mentioned above, “Quest Log” is available for iOS and Android. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with an augmented reality-style goal marker.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
