Initially, Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk seemed somewhat hesitant to do more Squid game. But when your series is the biggest show on the platform, you might want to rethink that. Hwang did and has since warmed up at the idea. Now he has a few more details on what to expect in the upcoming season of the popular Netflix show.

The first season ended with Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, standing queuing to board a plane to see her daughter, but then revolve around. This, Apparently, isn’t the last we’ll see of the character. In an interview, Hwang confirmed that there will be a second season with Gi-hun back.
“It’s in my head right now,” Hwang said PA, adding that he was currently in the planning process. “But I think it’s too early to say when and how it’s going to happen.”
“So I promise you thisâ¦ Gi-hun will come back.” He will do something for the world.
What exactly? We do not know. Then again, we really don’t know much about the season ahead. In October, Hwang said The temperature that the police angle was something he might be interested in exploring further in season two. It could resurrect the subplot of the police that has been hushed up.
In the same PA interview, Hwang mentioned how a second season became inevitable. âSo there was so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season,â he said. “So I almost feel like you don’t give us a choice!” It wasn’t until a few months ago in September that Hwang said he didn’t have firm plans for Squid game season 2 recounting Variety, “It’s pretty tiring just thinking about it.”
As attractive as Gi-hun and actor Lee Jung-jae are, the end of the first season left some viewers cold, including LeBron James, who summed up the sentiment of many when he said, “Like, get on the fucking flight and go see your daughter, brother.” Like, what are you doing? “
There are many ways the character could be dealt with in Season 2, including through flashbacks. However, since Hwang says Gi-hun will “do something for the world,” that doesn’t seem likely. But will he do something for his daughter?
