A fan of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has created impressive real-world replicas of Steel and Silver, Geralt’s swords from the game.
When CD Projekt Red was released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2015, the popularity of the RPG exploded. Previous games in the fantasy series had enjoyed success, but the latest release sent the adventures of Geralt of Rivia into the stratosphere.
CD Projekt Red has announced that the next Witcher game is in development, and to troubleshoot fans, a next-gen patch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Currently aiming for a Q4 2022 release. However, issues within the company have caused the PS5 and Xbox Series versions to be delayed multiple times, leading to fans taking matters into their own hands in order to get through the time waiting for the sequel.
A Redditor by the name of Hands0m3_Jack24 not only shared his love of the witcher series, but recreated two steel and silver swords, Geralt’s weapons of choice. The swords are crafted from wood and have not only been painted to look like they were crafted from metal, but they also feature intricate runes that run down the blade and stylized hilts that have been meticulously recreated.
The swords have been measured at approximately 115cm from end to end, and due to the materials used, they are unfortunately not intended for use in combat. Instead, they’ll take pride of place on Hands0m3_Jack24’s wall. Understandably enough, the creator has seen his fair share of praise for the amazing replicas, with many users highlighting the professional craftsmanship shown in the recreation of steel and silver.
Elsewhere, other players use other techniques to get their Witcher to fix. The Ring of Elden The character designer has driven its fair share of recognizable icons from major franchises like Star Wars and Marvel, but one player has taken it to the next level by inserting Geralt into Ring of Elden to face the toughest bosses.
While players are still finding ways to celebrate the witcherCD Projekt is still trying to recover from the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Although the game has been largely patched, shares of CD Projekt Red have seen a 75% decline since December 2020. All eyes will be on The Witcher 4 not only to deliver a worthy sequel to the franchise, but also to turn the company around quickly.
The Witcher 4 is currently in development.
